Some changes are marked Turned on separately in Settings → MCP Server. They are off for every institute until an admin switches each one on by hand.

What never turns them on

None of these switch on an opt-in edit:
  • setting the area to Edit;
  • the Turn everything on shortcut;
  • switching the server on for the first time.
The View only shortcut does turn them off, along with every other change.

The list

All of these show a preview and wait for your “yes” in the chat before anything changes, except simple CRM additions such as a note on a lead, which apply straight away. See Risk levels for what people notice.

Turn one on

1

Open the area

In What AI apps can do, click the area’s name to open its row.
2

Switch on the change

Find the change with the Turned on separately badge and switch it on. The area’s View turns on with it.
3

Save

Click Save settings.
Turn opt-in edits on for a role, not for everyone. Under Per-role access (advanced), customize Admin and switch the edit on there. Other roles keep the main settings. See Who can connect.

Before you turn one on

  • Try it yourself first, on a test course, a test learner or a test lead.
  • Ask the AI app to show you the preview, and read it before you say yes.
  • Tell your team that a “yes” in the chat makes a real change.
